“Living Healthy— A Community Education Series Promoting wellness, safety, and preventive healthcare in the Heart of Illinois

The Living Healthy Series is a monthly series of public seminars targeting important health and safety issues that impact on you and your family.  The best way to stay healthy is to take action now to preserve your health.  We believe that community education is an important part of our mission to “Lead Collaboration to Improve Health” and believe we have created an excellent program to educate you about how to live healthy.

Each of the nine sessions will include a presentation by a faculty member from the
University of Illinois Regional Health Sciences Site in Peoria.  We hope that the sessions will inspire you to share important health information with your friends and family.  To facilitate this, each session will include a “Trusted Sites” bookmark listing websites that are resources for reliable information on this topic.

This community education project is a joint effort between the University of Illinois College of Medicine at
Peoria, the UIC Library of the Health Sciences, the UIC School of Nursing, and the UIC School of Public Health.  These are the four components of the Regional Health Sciences site in Peoria.  This project is also supported by the Swain Endowed Lectureship and the National Library of Medicine.

The University of Illinois Regional Health Science Site in Peoria presents Living Healthy as part of the Swain Endowed Lectureship and with Federal funds from the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, under Contract No. NO1-LM-6-3503 with the University of   Illinois at Chicago.
